'Ghost of Tsushima' - Power BI Design Template
Great visual inspiration can come from virtually anywhere if you are paying attention. In recent years, some PS5 games have had visually stunning menu screens with great design aesthetics. Clean, minimalistic and eye-catching. I often find myself taking screenshots to use later as design inspiration.
What I have done here is take the design style of a popular PS5 game – Ghost of Tsushima – and convert it into a Power BI dashboard. All the visuals used here are standard Power BI visuals, with no custom visuals used. Figma was used for some shapes, images, etc. Hope you like it! 😊
Disclaimer - The aim here was to draw inspiration from an unexpected source and push the limits of Power BI design styles. But there are some elements here which I would not consider practical in the real world (the extravagant filter pane, for example) which could be an implementation challenge for real world developers wanting to use this PBIX. So I have not uploaded this file here. Feel free to let me know otherwise in the comments. If the general consensus is that the PBIX might still be useful, I will go ahead and upload it to this page.
I have also used UDF (User Defined Functions) in this PBIX file. Definitely one of the more useful features that Power BI has come out with recently. I can think of several use cases for it going ahead.
Figma has been used where needed - for shapes, images, etc.
Credit to Bas Dohmen for some design ideas such as the gradient on the area charts! Link to that video here.
